About the role

  • Play an integral role in program teams and support financial reporting to the SMS Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
  • Develop, review, analyze and maintain cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and communicate cost and/or schedule trends; assess range of opportunities and risks.
  • Develop performance reports and integration of variance analyses and provide clear, concise understanding of operational and financial performance to senior management.
  • Coordinate efforts to troubleshoot process and tool issues, resolve root cause and recommend solutions.
  • Work with Program/Project leadership team to handle a program baseline and implement Earned Value Management.
  • Complete the monthly Forecast analysis and support Customer deliverables.
  • Lead (Level 4) the development, integration and analysis of resource forecasts and Estimates at Completion (EACs) for various projects; make recommendations to senior management on financial performance projections.
  • Act as Finance Subject Matter Expert (Level 5) and lead/integrate financial processes and tools across programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, or Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA).
  • 1+ years of experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets.
  • Level 4: 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 5: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ year of experience with Earned Value Management (preferred).
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in Senior Leadership briefings.
  • Experience leading projects or teams with little direct supervision and drive project to completion.
  • Experience with Deltek, COGNOS, COBRA, Earned Value Management software, and other accounting systems containing historical cost data.
  • Experience with financial planning processes and tools.
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements: a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Security Clearance: requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
