About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee engineers, Technical Designers, and Project Managers to integrate activities across various Cabin Systems functions
- Support in developing data for the various functions, supporting design releases, and integrating change across the Interiors organization
- Responsible to lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in Electronic and Electrical Engineering
- Oversee the development, installation and certification of Cabin Systems features for 787 and 777 airplane families
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Guides, coaches and mentors employees to support career growth
- Collaborate with 787 and 777 Program leaders to align team deliverables to program schedules
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline (preferably with Cabin Systems engineering, Integration, Certification or equivalent)
- At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
- Prior experience as design engineer preferred
- 2+ years of working with suppliers
- 2+ years of experience interfacing with E-UMs/the FAA and/or other certification regulatory agencies
- Experience building relationships with internal organizations and suppliers
- Demonstrated design and system thinking skills
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a resource-scarce environment
