About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the development of detailed cost estimates for compulsory and discretionary improvements to manufacturing, safety, and quality
- Lead and maintain development and improvements to estimating tools and models
- Oversee the integration of complex business cases incorporating non-recurring and recurring costs, revenue, and capital assumptions
- Understand financial colors of money and their correct applications
- Present to senior leaders within the organization
- Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools to provide real time visibility of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Leverage data mining and predictive analytics to improve basis of estimates
- Foster acceptance and curiosity of artificial intelligence and machine learning projects
- Partner with manufacturing teams to understand production processes, constraints, and cost drivers
- Work with business operations and program finance to align estimates with financial plans, forecasts, and program objectives
- Support program leadership with clear, concise analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Identify and lead process improvements to enhance estimating accuracy and reduce cycle time
- Drive standardization of estimating practices across the team
- Supervise and mentor teammates and others
- Foster a collaborative, high performance environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership.'
