About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supports BDS technical leadership in development of SoW, technical mentoring, project planning, execution and monitoring
- Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
- Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Performs, integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
- Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
- Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements, working under general direction
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as aircraft structure, manufacturing processes, cost and schedule drivers, materials and properties, design criteria, configuration control and release processes
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Solid grasp of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 (2009/2018) utilizing Model-Based Definition (MBD)
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design, creating, executing and reviewing, structural design models/drawings.
- Working conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs including parametric/subtractive modeling 2D drawings and 3D deliverables in Siemens NX CAD/CAM software
- 3+ years of experience using Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 12 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading/mentoring younger engineers
- 5 + years of experience developing advanced technical ideas and guiding their development into final product
- Worked on unusually complex technical problems and provided solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
- 3+ years of experience working within cross-functional teams/Integrated Product Team
- Seeking Boeing Aerospace experience
- A self-starter demonstrating efficient problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Solid communicator and presenter with SRR/PDR/PMR or CDR experience being fluent in both written and spoken English
- Experience in project management leadership (planning, cost estimating, monitoring, reporting). EVMS experience a plus
- Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads.
