About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with the Washington Interiors Responsibility Center Fabrication Business Unit on value creation initiatives and emergent production support projects.
Lead new material qualifications, troubleshoot emergent material issues, and contribute to supply chain risk mitigation.
Conduct hands-on lab testing of new and existing material systems, ensuring quality and performance standards.
Travel domestically up to 10% to supplier sites and partner locations as project needs arise.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Apply critical thinking, innovative problem-solving, and project management skills to deliver impactful solutions.
Actively listen and respond to team and customer needs, fostering collaboration through Seek, Speak, and Listen principles.
Provide on-site support for production and lab testing activities to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Minimum 2 years of engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
2+ years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree (Level 2)
5+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent education/experience combination (Level 3)
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with composites, thermoplastics, elastomers, and associated processing techniques.
Experience working in engineering or scientific labs with polymer chemistry and analytical techniques
