About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install and configure Oracle database software and related components in Azure IAAS/OCI deployment models
- Perform routine database administration: user and schema management, tablespace administration, and patching
- Monitor database health and respond to alerts; perform basic performance diagnostics and remediation
- Support backup and recovery operations and validate restore procedures
- Troubleshoot connectivity and common operational issues; escalate complex issues to senior DBAs
- Assist with cloud migration tasks: schema/data migration validation and environment provisioning support
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, runbooks, and troubleshooting steps
- Participate in on-call support activities as required
- Collaborate with application developers, system administrators and senior DBAs to support production systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- Up to 5 years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience
- Working knowledge of Oracle architecture, SQL and PL/SQL
- Experience with backup/recovery procedures and basic performance tuning
- Familiarity with Oracle security concepts (roles, privileges, auditing)
- Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure (IAAS)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow runbooks and escalation procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
