About the role
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct safety risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, preparing reports and presentations for management and stakeholders
- Facilitate safety training programs and workshops to enhance employee knowledge and engagement in safety practices
- Lead investigations of safety incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up on corrective actions
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to safety management systems
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and audits from regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in safety management systems, preferably in the aviation industry
- 3+ years of experience in roles engaging senior level executives and/or customers
- 3+ years of experience collecting, interpreting data, and managing high level projects for executives or senior leadership
- Experience in developing and executing integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
