About the role
- Reporting to the Structures Engineering Manager and working alongside the Engineering Management team, provides and expert guidance on strategic and operational engineering matters within the Cabin Interiors Structures team.
- Lead requiring advanced technical expertise and cross-functional coordination.
- Drive and lead aimed at improving team efficiency, processes, and engineering standards.
- Chair and lead to ensure rigorous technical scrutiny and decision-making.
- Identify, develop, and implement to establish and maintain a gold standard of engineering excellence.
- Serve as a for interior modification structures topics.
- Mentor and coach junior and experienced engineers, fostering technical growth and leadership development within the team.
- Collaborate with other Principal Engineers across engineering disciplines to align on standards.
- Maintain and demonstrate in interior modifications relatingto structures, staying current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Engineering Management team in defining and executing the for the Structures discipline.
- Promote a culture of throughout the engineering organization.
- Act as Boeing representative during customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI in support of active and up-coming projects.
- Provide additional on-site support to assist the customers’ during the embodiment phase of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree within Aerospace/Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience serving as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) within a Design Organization Approval (DOA) environment is essential.
- Recognised subject matter expert (SME) in the structural assessment of aircraft interior modifications is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects and technical initiatives.
- Strong experience in technical authority roles, including managing escalations and leading Technical Review Boards.
- Excellent mentoring and coaching skills, with a passion for developing engineering talent.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and influence senior stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with evidence of ongoing technical and leadership growth.
- Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive innovation and process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR 25 requirements (relevant to the stress/structures discipline)
- A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity
- Ability to prioritise workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands.
