About the role
- Assess aircraft hardware/software/firmware design to identify potential safety hazards
- Propose solutions to reduce or eliminate hazards to ensure product safety and customer mission success
- Participate in investigation of in-service fleet safety issues including in-flight emergencies, mishaps and near-misses
- Conduct safety hazard analysis across development, modification and operational phases of fighter jets
- Verify system meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements through tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations
- Document safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace systems including safety hazard analysis, environmental safety, air vehicle subsystems design & test, software design & test, hazardous material management or aircraft maintenance
- Ability to travel 25%
