About the role

  • Oversee the design, architecture, and development of a data integration and analytics platform
  • Define technical strategy for a software platform supporting a portfolio generating over $20 million in annual revenue
  • Drive innovation to transition product lines from reactive to proactive health management
  • Assess and identify technology solutions for ETL, data storage, big data processing, ML, visualization, containerization, and web development
  • Ensure software solutions and data governance comply with ITAR/EAR, CUI, and data classification restrictions
  • Lead development and implementation of software design practices, architectural documentation, tooling, and metrics
  • Manage and reduce technical debt while preventing future debt creation
  • Coordinate with software engineering leadership, IT, SQE, business counterparts, stakeholders, and customers
  • Mentor early-career engineers and guide team skill development
  • Continuously research industry trends and emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions
  • Align software architecture with Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) objectives and integrate with BGS Government solutions

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing software solutions for enterprise-level data and analytics in multiple programming languages and frameworks
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience
  • 5+ years of knowledge of software programming languages, databases, and architecture frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience developing solutions within cloud frameworks including Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Post-Start) — U.S. Citizenship required
  • Export control compliance: must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Experience or knowledge of ITAR/EAR, CUI, and data classification restrictions (preferred)
  • Experience overseeing end-to-end development and operation architecture for data analytics solutions (preferred)
  • Experience developing and/or leading AI based solutions, including generative AI (preferred)
  • Experience developing predictive health management solutions for military and defense customers (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (preferred)
  • Travel: up to 10%
  • Must complete a technical assessment (CodeVue) as part of the selection process
