About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to delivery of regulatory programs across applicable Tier 1 Risk Types
  • Design, develop, automate, coordinate, and continuously improve evidence-based risk controls
  • Support compliance with regulatory obligations under BMO’s Risk Management Framework and approved Risk Appetite
  • Support implementation of risk management programs and frameworks
  • Execute strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Build stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment
  • Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
  • Build and execute change management plans, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, evaluation, and sustainment
  • Monitor whether first-line jobs follow defined processes and procedures
  • Develop, document, maintain, update, and communicate business/group procedures
  • Track exception and exemption requests and approvals
  • Promote risk identification and management through communications, presentations, practical tools, and ongoing support
  • Operationalize regulatory frameworks across lines of business and jurisdictions
  • Conduct or support self-assessments, risk remediation, policy implementation, measurement, and reporting
  • Identify, investigate, analyze, document, and mitigate program risks
  • Collaborate with 1LOD, 2LOD, and Corporate Audit to identify, assess, measure, manage, and report risks
  • Analyze program impact and effectiveness through periodic reviews and recommend adjustments
  • Support audits and regulatory examinations and help develop issue-resolution action plans
  • Support development and delivery of risk-management training and awareness programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good program management skills
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth collaboration and team skills
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth influence skills
  • Fluency in French and English to support business operations outside Quebec
