About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform detailed review and quality assurance of Book of Record issue records
- Validate issue descriptions, root causes, risk alignment, severity ratings, risk classifications, control linkages, and supporting documentation
- Validate issue treatment rationale and required Book of Record fields
- Monitor issue progress across the lifecycle, including updates, timelines, action plans, and target completion dates
- Provide constructive challenge to Issue Owners and Managers
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and unsupported assumptions in issue records
- Ensure issues align with enterprise risk taxonomies, control frameworks, and identified control failures
- Support issue reporting on status, aging, severity trends, overdue issues, and remediation progress
- Partner with Issue Owners, Action Plan Managers, Business Units, and risk and governance teams
- Provide guidance on issue management standards and escalate concerns when standards or timelines are not met
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in risk management, internal audit, controls, or governance
- Strong understanding of issue management frameworks and lifecycle
- Strong understanding of risk, control, and governance principles
- Strong understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model
- Experience with enterprise tools such as Archer (Book of Record) or equivalent GRC platforms
- Preferred experience in issue quality review, testing, or effective challenge roles
- Preferred experience in regulatory, audit, or compliance environments
- Familiarity with risk taxonomies and control frameworks
- Familiarity with issue remediation and control testing concepts
