Associate Director, Commercial Banking
BMO U.S.Associate Director managing large commercial loan portfolios for BMO's Corporate Finance team. Supporting credit structuring, client decisioning, and business development efforts.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plays a critical role in supporting the growth and risk‑management objectives of the portfolio.
- Contributes to client decisioning, credit structuring, and portfolio oversight.
- Analyses credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions.
- Negotiates loan structures and terms and conditions that align client requirements with the bank's risk appetite and policies.
- Monitors portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and compliance, analyses metrics, and assesses broader industry trends.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- Foundational level of proficiency: Structuring Deals
- Advanced level of proficiency: Problem Solving, Collaboration, Detail-Oriented, Customer Service, Loan Structuring, Regulatory Compliance, Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Assessment, Banking Operations.
- Expert level of proficiency: Financial analysis.
