About the role

  • Provides strategic project management leadership for a line of business (LOB) or function
  • Delivers strategically significant, complex, multi-year projects and programs
  • Communicates organizational impacts of change and provides solutions to the executive team
  • Builds a strong network and relationships with executives to lead projects
  • Develops and implements project plans including setting the vision and resource plans
  • Builds and manages a performance-capable team, including project managers and consultants
  • Sets context and direction for strategic vision and tactics to fulfill business objectives
  • Creates training and development plans for project teams
  • Leads strategic initiatives focusing on horizontal alignment to improve productivity and customer experience
  • Manages all aspects of project execution and ensures compliance with Project Management Standards

Requirements

  • University degree/college diploma and/or 12+ years of related work experience
  • Expert knowledge and experience in project management with a demonstrated ability to deliver on time and on budget
  • Strong working knowledge of core BMO leadership competencies
  • Knowledge of the business environment and products
  • Understanding of the workings of the organization and procedures
  • Proficiency in the use of standards/tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrates experience in building a project management structure and operations
