About the role

  • Provides tax planning and advice as part of a comprehensive wealth management solution
  • Provides technical expertise for tax planning solutions and administration
  • Works collaboratively as part of the client/relationship management solution
  • Identifies and makes referrals to other business groups
  • Identifies opportunities to grow existing relationships and develop new business
  • Participates in advisory committees for tax planning and related wealth management
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making
  • Provides insight and shares expertise with team members for taxation concepts
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards
  • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs
  • Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements
  • Identifies business needs, designs/develops tools and training programs
  • Provides proactive, integrated, and customized tax planning strategies to help clients achieve financial and personal goals

Requirements

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Tax Planning and Legal processes
  • In-depth knowledge of Tax issues, Trust Accounting and Investment Management
  • In-depth knowledge of tax requirements including estate planning techniques
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
