About the role
- Develop and own the end-to-end email marketing strategy, including segmentation, A/B testing, personalization, and journey mapping.
- Define clear eligibility rules and criteria for various customer segments (e.g., pre-qualified leads, refinance prospects, inactive users) to ensure the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all email campaigns.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of email performance, providing actionable insights to continuously optimize programs and increase ROI.
- Lead the execution of all email campaigns, including promotional, lifecycle, transactional, and trigger-based emails.
- Write comprehensive creative briefs for all email campaigns, clearly outlining target audience, key messages, required assets, and legal disclaimers.
- Manage the email calendar, ensuring timely delivery and proper coordination with creative, content, and data teams.
- Oversee the health of our email list, focusing on deliverability, inbox placement, and data hygiene.
- Write and maintain clear Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) that effectively translate marketing strategy into detailed technical specifications for new email features, platforms, and integrations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Marketing team and the Product and Technology teams to define, prioritize, and implement technical requirements for the email marketing stack (ESP, data connectors, automation workflows, etc.).
- Participate in and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new email features, ensuring functionality meets the original business requirements and delivers a flawless customer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in email marketing or marketing automation, preferably in a financial services or another highly regulated industry
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one major Enterprise Email Service Provider (ESP) (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, Adobe Campaign, or HubSpot).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, translate it into strategic recommendations, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of email deliverability best practices, list management, and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
