About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development of solar and energy storage project opportunities in NY, PA, and IL
  • Assist in early project diligence, including site design, GIS review, and permitting research
  • Produce internal documentation, including Work Orders and ACE forms, for project scopes and budget requests
  • Participate with the Project Development team in interactions with engineers, contractors, landowners, permitting authorities, and customers
  • Use document control, internal Trackers, and Salesforce to track and report project progress
  • Become familiar with project documentation, regulatory requirements, and milestones, and monitor project progress against them
  • Prepare internal and external documents and presentations
  • Provide quantitative analytical support for key project development decisions
  • Research emerging solar and energy storage technical and policy topics
  • Create presentations for community meetings and support communication processes with landowners
  • Review utility interconnection and state incentive applications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Civil Engineering, Energy Systems, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field
  • Based in the Boston area
  • Previous co-op or work experience in a related discipline
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment while managing tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Self-motivated, proactive learner able to quickly ramp up in a dynamic environment
  • Creative problem-solver interested in improving processes and streamlining operations
  • General understanding of electrical components used in solar and storage projects
  • Technical exposure to or working knowledge of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) preferred but not required
  • Experience interacting with public officials or Boards preferred but not required
  • Able to work in the office at least three days per week
