About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build systems powering the e-commerce experience, including customer-facing front-end applications, APIs, and backend services
- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines for fast, repeatable, and safe production releases
- Improve automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including verification of AI-assisted code
- Use Infrastructure as Code tools to build and manage cloud environments and containerised workloads
- Build logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting infrastructure
- Improve release strategies through feature flags, staged rollouts, safe database migrations, and reliable rollback
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
- Help the wider team adopt AI-assisted development tools effectively
- Lead development initiatives and contribute to architectural decisions
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced developers
- Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, studio, internal systems, and accounts
- Translate commercial needs into robust technical solutions
- Support customer-facing platforms for the route1print and instantprint e-commerce brands
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in both full stack development and DevOps or platform engineering
- Typically 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience across front-end and back-end development
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as C#, Java, Go, or similar
- Experience building web applications, APIs, and service-based architectures
- Hands-on ownership of CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
- Strong working knowledge of cloud architecture on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Knowledge of containerisation and modern deployment tooling, such as Docker and container orchestration
- Understanding of automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels
- Solid understanding of relational databases, Git, and modern development workflows
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and agent-based development workflows
- Strong stakeholder communication and confidence taking ownership and challenging existing thinking
- Experience with high-traffic e-commerce systems is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 9am–5.30pm
