About the role
- Work on a variety of client projects building high-quality Laravel applications
- Collaborate with engineering teams and modern technologies to deliver solutions
- Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and backend systems
- Optimize MySQL performance, indexes, and queries for high-volume datasets
- Write, review, and maintain tests using Pest PHP and PHPUnit
- Implement authentication and security best practices in backend systems
- Contribute to database schema design and performance-driven architecture decisions
- Take ownership of deliverables and align with client goals
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Laravel (Laravel 8+)
- Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization
- Strong hands-on experience writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries
- Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies
- Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder
- Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications
- Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and backend security practices
- Experience with testing tools such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit
- Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel
- Experience with ReactJS is a plus
- Ability to take extreme ownership and deliver on commitments
- Forensic attention to detail
