About the role
- Design and develop innovative software applications that enhance users' lives for Bluelight's clients
- Work on a variety of client projects across the full development lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry professionals using modern technologies
- Optimize MySQL database performance and resolve complex database bottlenecks
- Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries and analyze EXPLAIN plans and indexing strategies
- Design and implement scalable database schemas, RESTful APIs, and authentication systems in Laravel
- Ensure code quality and system reliability using testing tools (Pest PHP, PHPUnit)
- Take ownership of work, meet estimates and deliver commitments to clients
- Participate in continuous learning, training, conferences, and professional development
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Laravel, specifically with Laravel 8 and above
- Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization
- Strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries
- Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies
- Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder
- Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications
- Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and backend security practices
- Experience with testing tools such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit
- Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel
- Experience with ReactJS (plus)
- Ability to take extreme ownership over your work
- Ability to identify with Bluelight's clients' goals and deliver on commitments
