About the role

  • Design, develop, and maintain Laravel applications (Laravel 8+), implementing scalable backend services.
  • Optimize MySQL performance, tune queries, design indexes, and resolve database bottlenecks.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs with a focus on performance and data efficiency.
  • Work on large-scale multitenant SaaS projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Write and maintain automated tests using Pest PHP and PHPUnit to ensure system reliability.
  • Implement Laravel Authentication and robust backend security practices.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality applications and meet project commitments.
  • Continuously learn and apply modern technologies and best practices to accelerate career growth.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with Laravel, specifically with Laravel 8 and above, demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework's architecture and capabilities.
  • Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex database bottlenecks.
  • Strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries, especially for applications handling large and growing datasets. This includes a thorough understanding of EXPLAIN plans, indexing strategies (including composite indexes), and query rewriting techniques.
  • Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies to ensure scalability and data integrity, particularly for high-volume transactions.
  • Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder, coupled with a clear understanding of how these tools generate SQL and how to optimize the underlying queries for performance.
  • Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications.
  • Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and implementing robust security practices in backend systems.
  • Experience with testing tools, such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit, to ensure code quality and system reliability.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel, focusing on performance and data efficiency.
  • Experience with ReactJS is a plus.
  • Ability to take extreme ownership over your work.
