Sales Representative
BlueCross BlueShield of South CarolinaSales Representative managing sales for group and individual accounts. Focused on developing relationships with local Chambers of Commerce and selling small group health insurance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory.
- Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals.
- Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
- Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales.
- Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
- Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: One-year sales and marketing.
- Required Skills and Abilities : Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace.
- Effective presentation and customer service skills.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Required Software and Tools : Microsoft Office.
- Required License and Certificate: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.
