About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with accounting standards
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances from budget or prior periods, and communicate findings to leadership
  • Monitor and report on departmental and company-wide expenditures against approved budgets
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Support the annual budgeting process and coordinate input from department heads
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
  • Partner with FP&A and business unit leaders on financial planning and capital allocation
  • Track actuals versus forecast and provide timely variance commentary
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all accounts
  • Review and approve invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in accordance with company policy
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Manage fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and capitalization policies
  • Support treasury operations including cash management and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure all accounting activities are performed in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Support internal and external audit requests, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in coordination with external advisors (sales tax, property tax, etc.)
  • Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements to mitigate financial risk
  • Partner with operations, HR, back office, and other business units to provide financial guidance and support
  • Assist in evaluating the financial impact of business decisions, contracts, and new initiatives
  • Support lender, investor, and board reporting requirements as needed
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and support knowledge-sharing across the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
  • - 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; renewable energy experience preferred
  • - Proficiency in ERP systems; Sage and Microsoft Excel preferred
  • - Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • - Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
