About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and school, district, or state leaders
  • Adapt Blue Engine content to partner contexts while maintaining learning goals and integrity
  • Prepare, calibrate, and reflect with the Blue Engine project team
  • Provide individual or group instructional coaching
  • Support educators in using data, high-quality instructional materials, and inclusive practices
  • Conduct observations, learning walks, or implementation reviews and identify strengths, barriers, and next steps with partners
  • Provide strategic thought partnership on instructional improvement, implementation strategy, leadership development, or systems change
  • Facilitate planning with school, district, or state leaders and advise on implementation conditions and supports
  • Contribute expertise to research, program or product design, partnerships, proposals, pilots, and strategic priorities
  • Execute agreed services and deliverables according to project milestones and quality standards
  • Collaborate under a project-specific scope of work defining services, deliverables, timelines, fees, and points of contact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial professional experience in K–12 education, educator development, and/or instructional improvement
  • Deep expertise in at least one of: high-quality instructional materials implementation and adaptation; specially designed instruction and supports for students with disabilities; multilingual learner instruction and language development; inclusive Tier 1 instruction and designing for learner variability; multi-tiered systems of support and curriculum-aligned intervention; co-teaching and educator collaboration; district- or state-level implementation and systems change
  • Record of high-quality work and measurable impact on student outcomes, educator practice, organizational capacity, and/or student experience
  • Experience working with schools, districts, state education agencies, or charter networks
  • Ability to build trusting, productive relationships with stakeholders across roles, backgrounds, and identities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills adapted to different audiences and contexts
  • Ability to work independently, manage deliverables and timelines, and communicate proactively about progress or potential barriers
  • Responsiveness to feedback and willingness to participate in collaborative design, preparation, calibration, and reflection
  • Alignment with Blue Engine’s mission and commitment to expanding access to grade-level learning for students who have been historically marginalized
  • Depending on the engagement: experience facilitating adult learning in virtual and in-person environments; experience coaching teachers, instructional coaches, school leaders, or system leaders; knowledge of particular curricula, content areas, student populations, or geographic contexts; availability for in-person work or travel in a particular region

  • Independent Contractor (1099) arrangement
