About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and treat clinic patients in accordance with standards of care
  • Follow levels of medical care and quality for patients and monitor care using available data and chart reviews
  • Assist in coordinating patient services and refer patients to network resources as needed
  • Participate as a key source of medical expertise with the care team through daily huddles
  • Promote a cooperative practice environment through a professional and approachable demeanor
  • Complete medical record documentation in a timely manner
  • Follow policies and protocols defined by Clinical Leadership and BCBSAZ
  • Meet with departments to discuss quality of care, outcome data, policy, procedure, and records issues
  • Participate in potential growth opportunities for new or existing services
  • Maintain personal compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers, social/community organizations, and marketing partners
  • Work 100% on-site at the care center location and potentially move between clinics as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current and unrestricted Arizona medical license
  • Graduation from an accredited MD or DO program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relationships and communications with colleagues and patients
  • Full engagement in an integrated team-based care model
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to a value-based care setting
  • Superior patient/customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • BLS certification
  • Active AZ fingerprint clearance card
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
