About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide necessary in-house legal services
- Negotiate and draft contracts, including software licensing agreements, health care provider contracts, and supplier contracts
- Provide legal counsel to various BCBSAZ areas, including Information Technology, Procurement, Business Continuity, Marketing
- Manage Vendor Contract Forms and evaluate Form language
- Advise on healthcare and corporate issues, statutory and regulatory compliance
- Support activities related to the No Surprises Act
- Coordinate responses to DOI, attorney, provider, and member complaints
- Gather and analyze data for special risk management projects
- Work with Internal Audit on fraud investigation and prosecution
- Engage with internal clients on business needs with potential legal impacts
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 year(s) of experience in the legal field
- Juris Doctorate
- Active, current, and unrestricted license to practice law in Arizona or other jurisdiction with ability to become licensed in Arizona
- Admission to State Bar
- 8 year(s) of experience in a legal field (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry (preferred)
- Master’s Degree in business or related field of study (preferred)
