About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide personalized blood cancer education, patient advocacy, and psychosocial support
- Serve pediatric and adult blood cancer patients and caregivers
- Empower patients in communicating with healthcare teams
- Promote patient self-advocacy
- Provide clinical trial education and referrals
- Identify barriers to blood cancer care
- Stay current on blood cancer research
- Represent the IRC and Blood Cancer United at professional meetings
- Collaborate on abstract submissions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in social work, health education, nursing, or another healthcare-related field
- Current licensure in candidate's discipline
- At least three years of experience in a healthcare delivery setting
- Previous oncology experience, particularly in hematology, preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft products and custom platforms
- Ability to manage personal stress in difficult circumstances
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking and writing skills preferred
