About the role
- Lead the entire project lifecycle for next-generation AI/HPC datacenter infrastructure from initial planning and budgeting to final execution
- Lead project planning, define scope, develop detailed schedules, and establish budgets in collaboration with clients, engineers, and leadership
- Develop and meticulously manage project budgets, forecasts, and master schedules; implement change management and cost control processes
- Provide technical leadership on high-density power distribution, advanced thermal management (including liquid cooling), and structured cabling for GPU clusters
- Serve as primary point of contact and lead for stakeholders including internal design, engineering, operations, external general contractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Proactively identify project risks related to design, supply chain, and execution and develop mitigation strategies
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management ensuring compliance and optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and solve project delivery issues, both technical and project management related
- Drive a culture of safety and quality ensuring construction activities meet regulations and codes
- Report project status, progress, risks, and key decisions to executive leadership and collaborate closely with global engineering, design, and operations teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years progressive experience in construction project management, including large-scale, mission-critical, or hyperscale datacenter projects
- Proven experience managing high-density computing facilities and understanding of power systems (UPS, PDU, transformers), cooling systems (CRAC, chillers, cooling towers), and fire suppression
- Significant expertise or experience with high-density power distribution, advanced thermal management (including liquid cooling solutions), and structured cabling for GPU clusters
- Demonstrated expertise in managing multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and external contractors
- Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore)
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Must be able to traverse all areas of a construction site in various weather conditions
- Ability to travel as required for projects
- Preferred: Experience with large scale data center infrastructure including liquid cooling and high-wattage GPU server deployments
- Preferred: PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certifications
- Preferred: Successful experience delivering factory prefabricated datacenter projects and familiarity with prefabricated technology, modular core & shell and MEP systems
- Preferred: Experience managing global projects and working with international teams
- Preferred: Knowledge of hyperscale build methodologies, operational readiness processes, LEED, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, and other industry certifications
