About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with the VP Central Sourcing to understand, implement and continually improve the central sourcing strategy, developing knowledge of key comparator products, their therapy areas and the right channels to access them
  • Source and procure competitively priced products in line with the business's ethics, global sourcing and procurement processes, meeting agreed procurement targets and sourcing KPIs
  • Develop long-lasting, trusted relationships with key wholesalers, manufacturers and suppliers — including in-person and virtual meetings — to best support business demands
  • Build detailed knowledge of existing and potential global suppliers, pharmaceutical products, supply chains and markets, performing gap analysis on the supplier network and identifying new suppliers where required
  • Own and manage the end-to-end ordering process with suppliers and account management teams, ensuring key deliverables (timelines, specifications, quality standards) are achieved and resolving challenges across the order life cycle
  • Negotiate supplier discounts and initiatives to uplift margin, while monitoring key sourcing metrics and driving best sourcing behaviours across the CTS business
  • Proactively identify upcoming supply chain bottlenecks and develop solutions ahead of time to limit disruption to clients
  • Collaborate closely with the CTS Account Management team and other internal/external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service levels, feed into quotes, proposals and bid defences, and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the Group's supply network and available vendors to promote synergies across business units and improve client offerings
  • Ensure all duties comply with quality processes and SOPs, GDP, licensing/regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and health & safety, anti-bribery, and data protection programmes, taking a risk-based approach to sourcing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience within comparator sourcing within the life sciences
  • Vendor management or exposure experience would be necessary
  • Willingness to be present in the Willington office at least once a month
  • Willingness and desire to develop within, and add value to, the business
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good administrative, planning & organisational skills
  • Customer-focused, enthusiastic and pro-active
  • Initiative coupled with good problem solving & decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within team or individually
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
  • Positive, enthusiastic approach
