Employment Specialist
Best PointEmployment Specialist supporting adults with mental health and cognitive disabilities to achieve meaningful employment. Building relationships, conducting assessments, and facilitating job readiness and vocational services.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct intake assessments to identify participants' interests, skills, strengths, work history, educational background, and employment goals
- Develop and implement individualized Vocational Service Plans
- Provide job development, placement, coaching, and retention services
- Conduct community-based vocational and work assessments
- Support participants throughout the employment process, helping them overcome barriers and achieve success
- Facilitate job-seeking, career readiness, and social skills groups
- Coordinate services with family members, advocates, treatment providers, schools, and community supports
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers and community partners
- Serve as a liaison between consumers, employers, funding sources, and program leadership
- Lead live and virtual vocational training sessions using Microsoft Teams and established curriculum
- Maintain accurate case records and complete required documentation within established timelines
- Participate in biweekly therapy meetings and weekly ACT team meetings
- Assist individuals in community settings as needed
- Contribute to IPS Fidelity standards and ensure compliance with OHMAS requirements
- Maintain a positive, collaborative team environment
- Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED, bachelors preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation for community-based services
- Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills
- Ability to build relationships with individuals, employers, and community partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
