Online Instructor
Bess Health Careers Institute, LLCFaculty member delivering quality education services and engaging students at Health Career Institute LLC. Responsible for teaching assigned courses and fostering learning in an online environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Faculty members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services.
- Engage students and foster learning.
- Role model professionalism and produce competently trained students.
- Work with the Director of Online Education and other online faculty and staff.
- Teach assigned courses as specified in the course syllabus.
- Ensure the proper use of software: Weekly feedback reports Moodle.
- Evaluate and select texts and instructional materials; prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Provide students an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
- Utilize the College’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials.
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles.
- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives.
- Provide timely feedback on student progress.
- Be available for student consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments or by phone or email.
- Maintain attendance and grades, submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the College.
- Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
- Revise and update course content as needed.
- Participate in online orientation sessions.
- Meet with the Director of Online Education and/or the Vice President of Academic Affairs as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent (Required for teaching associate degree programs)
- Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent (Required for teaching bachelor degree programs)
- Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC) (Required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching at a post-secondary education institution (Preferred)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills
- Excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage students’ online activities
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to manage people and projects
- Knowledgeable in the course content.
- Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and overall performance.
- Prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques.
- A willingness to follow high ethical standards.
