Support and lead the delivery of traffic engineering projects for public infrastructure and private development clients
Produce high quality design documents and coordinate with senior staff
Mentor junior team members
Manage and execute traffic engineering assignments under the direction of a Senior Traffic Engineer
Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, and other traffic engineering tasks
Collaborate with team members and clients, complete traffic and photometric analyses, prepare technical reports
Help manage project timelines and budgets while serving as a bridge between junior staff and senior management
Participate in client and agency coordination meetings and respond to review comments from agencies, clients, and contractors
Support proposal efforts by providing project specific technical input and assisting with assembly of proposals

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, or Traffic Engineering in California is preferred
Three or more years of experience preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling
Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned work under an agreed budget and schedule with limited supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical work and collaborate within project teams
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for traffic design and plan production
Working knowledge of Synchro and SimTraffic, VISUAL, and AutoTurn, or interest and aptitude to become proficient in these tools
Ability to interpret and apply agency standards and guidelines related to traffic signals, lighting, signing, pavement delineation, and work zone traffic control.
