Process Technician
BekaertProcess Technician providing engineering and technical support at Bekaert, focusing on cost savings and process improvement. Collaborating with teams to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Providing engineering and technical support to operations and identifying potential cost savings
- Analyzing current processes and delivering options for continuous improvement
- Planning, leading, and/or supporting the implementing of focused improvement events, cycle time reductions, set up reductions and pull systems resulting in scrap reduction
- Engineering (floor support)
- Is readily available to the team to support in job setup and work balancing
- Develops equipment specifications, working with suppliers and maintenance
- Ensures product compliance
- Ensures process stability
- Ensures accuracy of standardized work and relevant work instructions
- Participates in best practice groups, owns consistency internal and external to the plant
- Supports the team in problem solving activities
- Introduces and investigates suggestions of new technologies
- Participates in layered audits
- Is accountable for meeting or exceeding business targets
- Is accountable for the process design and verification in their area of responsibility
- Visible leadership and personal communication
- Process improvement (drive CI activities)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required degree in Engineering
- Preferred degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 0-2 years of professional experience required, 3+ years of experience a plus
- Specialty skills preferred: Six Sigma Yellow Belt, a plus
- Preferred experience using software to analyze data, Power BI, Excel, Minitab, etc.
