About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all the routine metallography testing of the Wire Rod, ISC
- Perform all testing associated with ISC line such as Mechanical, Chemical & Bath Testing.
- Conduct Wire Fracture Analysis and find out the cause of the fracture and prepare the final report.
- Do the metallurgical analysis of Wire Rod, ISC & Filaments
- Test incoming Wire Rod and make a report with the defined methods of rating and advising the production team about possible difficulties
- Analyze fracture samples and give suggestions to production through a report.
- Coordinate third-party testing as per the sampling plan.
- Visit the wire rod supplier (on-site) to do metallography testing.
- Maintain heat-wise test results data.
- Maintain sufficient stock of consumables and cost savings by finding suitable alternatives for high-cost consumables.
- Handle instruments in the Mechanical Lab and Metallography lab.
- Do calibrations as instructed and perform MSA.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering
- 1-2 years (Preferably in Metallurgical testing)
- Sound knowledge of Metallurgy fundamentals
- Willingness to take initiative
- Good team player
- Positive, Go-getter attitude
- Good computer & communication (oral & written) skills
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management System ISO/TS 16949
- Knowledge of Material Characterization techniques
- Willing to travel frequently to wire rod suppliers for metallography testing purposes.
