Design, prototype, and take ownership of missions from pre-production through final implementation, working in a team and ensuring compelling objectives, combat encounters, and scenarios that align with the game’s narrative and core gameplay pillars;
Define mission flow, pacing, and difficulty curves to ensure an engaging and rewarding player experience;
Seamlessly integrate combat, exploration, and narrative into interactive experiences;
Collaborate with systems designers to ensure missions complement progression, rewards, and the game’s core mechanics;
Clearly communicate design intent to the creative director, artists, engineers, and QA throughout the production process.
Requirements
4–5 years of proven experience designing missions, quests, or levels on shipped AAA or mid-size titles;
Strong understanding of mission design principles, including flow, pacing, player motivation, and engagement loops;
Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 or a similar engine;
Experience with visual scripting (e.g., Blueprint) for mission logic and rapid prototyping;
Ability to balance scripted narrative and gameplay-driven challenges;
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, in English and/or French.
