About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare compilation engagements, including year-end working paper files, financial statements, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3), and partnership tax returns
- Prepare information returns and slips, including T4, T4A, T5, and related CRA filings
- Build positive client relationships and communicate directly with clients
- Request information, discuss accounting matters, and respond to inquiries
- Identify and resolve accounting and bookkeeping issues
- Support managers and partners in delivering high-quality client service and meeting deadlines
- Communicate progress updates and issues to team members
- Participate in business development initiatives and identify new opportunities with existing clients
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Participate in adopting digital tools and strategies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of related experience in the public accounting industry
- Experience or interest in working across a variety of industries
- Teamwork, client service, and quality-focused approach to detailed work
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prepare compilation engagements and financial statements
- Knowledge of corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3), and partnership tax returns
- Knowledge of T4, T4A, T5, and related CRA filings
