About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design Water/Wastewater electrical power distribution and technology improvements for municipalities
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams to create design documents for process improvements at Water/Wastewater facilities
  • Provide constructability review for electrical and automation design documents
  • Lead design efforts with consulting engineers and end users
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to design engineers
  • Design electrical distribution systems including one-line diagrams and plan drawings
  • Coordinate electrical design for automation, controls, and related SCADA systems
  • Review instrumentation and control system submittal packages
  • Collaborate with construction inspectors to assess field conditions and develop design solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Design Engineer
  • Advanced Computer Skills, Literacy, & Proficiency
  • Effective oral, written, and digital communication skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% to Houston area clients
  • Capable of interacting with design staff and consulting engineers
  • Effective organizational skills for task and time management
  • Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Visio experience a plus
  • P.E. license is preferred
