💰 $83,000 - $95,000 per year

About the role

  • Assist senior engineers with the evaluation, study, and design of water supply, pumping, treatment, and storage facilities
  • Perform field investigations, documenting findings and integrating them into engineering designs and reports
  • Prepare technical memoranda, engineering reports, planning studies, and design calculations
  • Develop detailed design documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water treatment and storage systems
  • Prepare project scopes, schedules, technical specifications, and contract documents for bidding and construction
  • Communicate regularly with clients and internal project teams regarding project status, design decisions, and technical recommendations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop complete bid packages and reports
  • Attend client meetings, including occasional evening Board or Council meetings

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in water, municipal, or infrastructure engineering
  • Working knowledge of engineering design principles, plan preparation, and water infrastructure systems
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Experience using engineering and design software (Civil 3D/Revit, ArcGIS, Blue Beam or other PDF editors)
  • Ability to travel locally throughout Chicagoland and Southeastern Wisconsin
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
