About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and integrate Regional Talent delivery into a nationally coherent Basketball Pathway aligned with the GB Way, Player Development Framework, and 3x3 integration
- Drive regional implementation of the national Basketball Pathway and develop regional strategy plans
- Plan and deliver year-round Aspire Skills Camps, Super-Regional Camps, Talent Hubs, and 3x3 identification events
- Manage regional staff, scheduling, facilities, logistics, and budgets
- Build a regional scouting network and maintain athlete monitoring and reporting structures
- Maintain U14-Senior depth charts for 5v5 and 3x3 and conduct performance reviews with priority athletes and clubs
- Oversee player welfare standards and facilitate access to support services
- Deliver coach CPD through on-court clinics, mentoring, observation, and remote learning
- Support Level 2–4 qualification pathways and run the 3x3vEvent Trainer
- Design and deliver regional 3x3 identification and development activities
- Lead targeted projects addressing performance gaps such as shooting efficiency and BBIQ
- Represent Basketball England in working groups and meetings with BBF, UK Sport, Sport England, professional clubs, and universities
- Coordinate regional alignment across England, Scotland, and Wales
- Submit monthly reporting dashboards covering player progression, pathway impact, and budget tracking
- Use performance data and video analysis to evaluate training effectiveness
- Uphold safeguarding, EDI, GDPR, and health and safety standards
- Build relationships with Talent Hubs, regional workforce, club coaches, and national team staff
- Lead post-season reviews and contribute to future planning and innovation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong track record in player and coach development within performance basketball
- Experience leading teams across performance, education, and club settings
- Knowledge of 5v5 and 3x3 structures
- Understanding of elite player development needs
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Data literacy and ability to use video and analysis platforms
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multi-agency environments
- High degree of self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to self-organise and plan amid changing and competing priorities
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure while maintaining sound judgement
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible attitude and willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Current, clear, enhanced DBS Check supplied to Basketball England
- Current Safeguarding Certificate supplied to Basketball England
- Willingness to attend planning and coordination meetings
- Ability to travel around sub-regions as required
