About the role
- Electrical component design: Support the design, development and testing of electro-mechanical systems (fans, compressors, generators)
- Prototype Development: Participate in the prototyping and assembly of new product under development
- Testing and Characterization: Support the testing and characterization of components using power supplies, power analyzers oscilloscopes, and signal generators
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, layout files, test plans, and reports, for designs and testing activities
- System Integration: Support system integration of power electronics with high performance machines
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, controls, and system performance engineers to ensure performance aligns with system-level requirements
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues during design, testing, and integration phases, propose and implement effective solutions
Requirements
- Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of engineering experience with strong EE fundamentals, preferably in Aerospace & Defense Industry (graduate research, internships or co-op experience will be considered)
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power electronics
- Experience with laboratory equipment and test instrumentation for measurements and analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizen (due to program requirements)
