About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and maintain high-quality lighting setups for CG assets, environments, and visual effects.
  • Produce photorealistic renders that seamlessly match live-action footage.
  • Collaborate with CG Supervisors, VFX Supervisors, and Compositors to meet the project's artistic and technical goals.
  • Contribute to look development and the finalization of shots.
  • Optimize scenes and renders while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Diagnose and solve lighting, rendering, and CG integration issues throughout production.
  • Work closely with Environment, FX, Look Development, and Compositing teams to ensure visual consistency across departments.
  • Participate in improving lighting workflows and best practices.
  • Attend shot reviews and dailies, offering creative and technical solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level artists as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in lighting and rendering for VFX, TV, or film projects.
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles, composition, color theory, and photorealistic rendering.
  • Advanced proficiency in Maya and a modern renderer such as Arnold, Redshift, or equivalent.
  • Experience in look development, materials, shaders, AOVs, and render optimization.
  • Good understanding of CG integration workflows and compositing requirements.
  • Ability to interpret artistic direction and work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in production pipelines for TV series or streaming platforms is a plus.
