About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and maintain high-quality lighting setups for CG assets, environments, and visual effects.
- Produce photorealistic renders that seamlessly match live-action footage.
- Collaborate with CG Supervisors, VFX Supervisors, and Compositors to meet the project's artistic and technical goals.
- Contribute to look development and the finalization of shots.
- Optimize scenes and renders while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Diagnose and solve lighting, rendering, and CG integration issues throughout production.
- Work closely with Environment, FX, Look Development, and Compositing teams to ensure visual consistency across departments.
- Participate in improving lighting workflows and best practices.
- Attend shot reviews and dailies, offering creative and technical solutions.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level artists as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lighting and rendering for VFX, TV, or film projects.
- Strong understanding of lighting principles, composition, color theory, and photorealistic rendering.
- Advanced proficiency in Maya and a modern renderer such as Arnold, Redshift, or equivalent.
- Experience in look development, materials, shaders, AOVs, and render optimization.
- Good understanding of CG integration workflows and compositing requirements.
- Ability to interpret artistic direction and work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in production pipelines for TV series or streaming platforms is a plus.
