About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments
- Obtain and verify demographic and insurance information
- Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system
- Work in a call center-type environment
- Meet individual quality metrics
- Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Team player with compassionate customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology desired
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR applications
- Accurate typing skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, and medical necessity compliance guidelines
- Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred
- Minimum required experience: less than 1 year
