About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Register patients accurately and efficiently
- Utilize multiple systems and interfaces
- Work across multiple patient access areas through cross-training
- Maintain service excellence for patients and visitors during face-to-face and telephonic encounters
- Contribute to annual Patient Access Services goals, including collections and palm scanning
- Apply understanding of state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
- Maintain professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members
- Articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
- Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Work with patient schedules and confirm patient appointments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–2 years of customer service experience required
- 1–2 years of insurance experience required
- 1–2 years of healthcare experience required
- High School Diploma required
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred
- Comfortable working in an office setting
- Customer service and multitasking skills
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to work full-time day shifts
