About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for following all hospital and departmental precautions and procedures in the performance of job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Obtains equipment needed for quality patient care delivery at all work sites (i.e., schools and/or event venues).
  • Provides athletic health care services to assigned schools, groups, and/or sites in accordance with applicable sports medicine agreement(s) and within scope of practice as outlined by State of Florida.
  • Documents, tracks, and reports organizational and administrative data (i.e., athletic injuries, referrals, and AT time/activity reports) from assigned schools and/or sites as instructed and by established deadlines.
  • Participates in departmental events/services and/or activities (ex. preparticipation physical exams, concussion baseline testing, etc.).
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately with all sports medicine team members, athletic health care team members, and Sports Medicine Outreach Leadership.
  • Acts as an ambassador for BHC, Andrews Institute, sports medicine outreach, and the athletic training profession at all times.
  • Responsibly completes and/or participates in other departmental requirements of the Athletic Trainer.
  • Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Other related field Required or
  • Master's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Other related field Required
  • Athletic Trainer Licensed State of Florida and Alabama (if working in Alabama) Upon Hire Required
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (AT_BOC) Upon Hire Required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
  • Knowledge of operations of Sports Medicine Outreach Program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology in reference to Sports Medicine Outreach Program.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and guidelines.
  • Care and prevention of athletic injuries.
  • Knowledge of operations of physician networking and referral management.
  • Comfort in evaluation skills and setting up plan of care.
  • Problem solving and decision capabilities.
