About the role

- Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and routing flow of clients and pets for superior care and productivity
- Maximize number of pets seen through a productive and efficiently run hospital to support wellness plan clients
- Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service; welcome clients and pets and ensure comfort
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs and hospital services
- Assist incoming clients with documentation, entering pet information and history, and identification procedures
- Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items per veterinarian, selling retail products and scheduling appointments
- Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures
- Conduct administrative functions and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances
- One year related experience required (customer service preferred)
- Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training preferred
- Reads, writes and speaks fluent English; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks under distracting conditions
- Client service skills and ability to educate clients about preventative care and wellness plans
- Organizational ability and problem solving skills
- Mathematical ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; convert units
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and specialized software
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and often more than 40 hours per week
- Ability to be confident around pets and tolerance for exposure to bites, scratches, and occasional anesthesia/radiation/biological hazards
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds; good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity
