About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead projects of varying sizes in collaboration with Senior Project Architects, Senior Project Designers, and Principals
  • Design, analyze, detail, and document healthcare, academic, or corporate buildings
  • Prepare technical drawings and specifications to ensure construction conforms to specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Coordinate architecture and engineering team members to deliver integrated multidisciplinary documents
  • Generate red lines in documentation sets
  • Maintain accountability for budget adherence
  • Act as a firm-wide mentor and advise on firm standards
  • Lead project components, disciplines, building delivery, or discipline delivery internally and externally
  • Present to and provide day-to-day support for clients, contractors, and external project teams
  • Lead construction-administration-related activities across the team and disciplines
  • Perform ongoing process-improvement studies
  • Build industry networks through trade organizations, local events, speaking, or conferences
  • Participate in performance reviews and internal committees where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture
  • Registered Architect required
  • Minimum 10–20 years of experience in building design and documentation; academic and research buildings experience strongly preferred
  • Highly versed in preparing full sets of design documents using Revit and Bluebeam
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, or other modeling software applications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Graphics and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
  • Ability to take and provide direction within a larger team
  • Ability to develop design or technical solutions with the Project Manager and Principal
  • Ability to lead large-scale or multiple projects, develop work plans, and project execution strategies
  • Self-starter able to independently generate design solutions and direction for other team members
  • Ability to interface with and lead all disciplines during design and coordination phases
  • Superb production, analytical, and communication skills
  • High level of responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills
