About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and collaborate with team members through programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation, and construction administration
- Work with the firm’s Architectural, Engineering and Design teams on innovative projects and interact with clients
- Conduct design-related research
- Work with external consultants, product representatives, and fabricators
- Interface and coordinate with other disciplines
- Mentor less-experienced team members and share knowledge
- Develop knowledge of health care, academic/lab/research, and corporate/workspace project types
- Participate in construction administration activities as appropriate to project responsibility
- Travel for surveys and field/site visits during construction as project requirements dictate
- Produce 3D renderings
- Pick up and generate redlines in documentation sets
- Ensure budget adherence
- Create and maintain firm standards
- Lead components of the discipline during design and coordination phases
- Produce field site visit reports as applicable
- Coordinate responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients
- Perform ongoing process-improvement studies
- Initiate industry networking through local events, speaking, or conferences where applicable
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Architecture or equivalent; BS or BA degree in Interiors or knowledge gained over years of work experience
- Five (5) to 15 years’ experience preferred
- Professional Registration
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, or other modeling software applications
- Graphics and visualization skills to communicate design ideas effectively
- Self-starter able to independently generate design solutions and provide direction to team members
- Ability to take direction within a larger team
- Ability to develop design or technical solutions under the supervision of the Project Architect and/or team
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstration of superior technical skills, dedication, and ownership of work
