About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the architecture, implementation, support, monitoring and trouble-shooting of the Firm’s LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 3 end user support for more than 1,800 users in 18 or more geographic locations.
- Support of a Service Level Agreement which articulates uptime and performance commitments to the user community.
- Establish and maintain system standards – documentation, configuration, and implementation.
- Establish and maintain standard procedures - performance optimization, backup and recovery, growth planning.
- Test and evaluate new hardware, software and upgrades as directed by management.
- Oversee work performed by Network Specialists and Engineers in the areas switching and routing.
- Act as technical contact for vendors regarding the Firm’s networked systems and applications.
- Design, implement and support system security including Firewall and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Design, implement and support for telephony systems.
- Design, implement and support for all user remote access methods.
- Design, implement and support data backup and recovery methodology and processes.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of pertinent infrastructure software and hardware.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience; equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for education requirement
- Interpersonal communication skills necessary in order to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients and staff in person, by e-mail and telephone.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- A demonstrated ability to creatively diagnose and solve complex problems involving hardware, software and end users.
- A proven ability to lead and build consensus among peers and staff.
