About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and train quality control staff members
- Manage and support pre-funding and post-closing quality control and due diligence functions
- Develop and manage Quality Assurance reviews for auditors
- Create and administer auditor training
- Develop and maintain auditor scorecards and performance standards
- Recommend quality and operational improvements based on findings and scorecards
- Prioritize job and staff responsibilities, assign work, meet deadlines, and develop project plans or schedules
- Monitor regulatory changes and keep staff informed
- Review high volumes of loan activity while maintaining detail and accuracy
- Identify and communicate irregularities and concerns to management
- Serve as a subject matter expert on underwriting and compliance related to credit risk
- Prepare and update quality control and quality assurance procedures and manuals
- Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and delivered within required time frames
- Supervise Quality Control Auditors and their reports, audit selection, customer rebuttals, report preparation, and report delivery
- Resolve customer concerns and issues related to work products
- Determine Quality-Control trends and implement improvements
- Coach staff on Quality-Control issues and questions
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Quality Control
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years of Mortgage Credit Underwriting or Post-Closing QC auditor experience
- 5 years of Management experience
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Control requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA, and USDA
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for real estate lending
- Proficient PC skills in MS Office
- Ability to develop spreadsheets and departmentally required documents using MS Excel/Word
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams
- Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- College degree preferred; experience equivalent considered
