About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage AML/CFT and sanctions compliance engagements for global financial services clients;
  • oversee engagement planning, execution, quality assurance, and timely delivery across multiple projects;
  • serve as the primary offshore point of contact for onshore teams and client stakeholders;
  • ensure deliverables meet regulatory expectations, internal quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Direct end-to-end AML independent testing engagements, including scoping, risk assessments, and testing strategy;
  • review control testing, gap assessments, and regulatory mapping against frameworks such as BSA/AML, FATF, OFAC, FCA, MAS;
  • provide oversight on issue identification, root cause analysis, and remediation recommendations;
  • validate remediation activities and support regulatory or internal audit responses.
  • Lead complex validations of transaction monitoring systems, sanctions screening tools, and customer risk rating models;
  • review model methodologies, assumptions, segmentation, scenarios, data quality, and thresholds;
  • oversee conceptual soundness assessments, outcomes analysis, and model performance testing;
  • ensure compliance with model risk management guidance (e.g., SR 11-7 or equivalent global frameworks);
  • deliver high-quality validation reports and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee AML operations delivery (transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/CDD, investigations, QA);
  • manage team performance, workload allocation, and adherence to SLAs and KPIs;
  • implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and quality enhancements;
  • drive consistent delivery excellence across managed service engagements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants and senior consultants;
  • conduct performance management, coaching, and career development planning;
  • support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives to scale offshore capabilities;
  • promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with onshore leadership and client stakeholders;
  • participate in senior-level client meetings, steering committees, and presentations;
  • provide proactive issue identification and resolution, ensuring client satisfaction;
  • support business development efforts, proposals, and solution design for new opportunities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AML/CFT, sanctions compliance, financial crime consulting, or related risk and compliance functions.
  • 2–4+ years of experience leading teams, managing client engagements, and delivering large-scale compliance projects.
  • Strong experience working with global financial institutions across retail banking, corporate banking, capital markets, fintech, and other financial services sectors.
  • Deep expertise in AML Independent Testing/Internal Audit support, AML Model Validation/Model Risk Management, and AML Managed Services and operational delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of global AML/CFT and sanctions regulatory frameworks, including BSA/AML, FATF, OFAC, EU AML Directives, and APAC regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with AML and sanctions technology platforms such as Actimize, Fiserv, SAS AML, FircoSoft, or similar solutions.
  • Exposure to data analytics and model validation tools such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience working in global delivery/offshore engagement models.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, CRCM, ICA, or equivalent are preferred.
